About the Organization

The Summit Recreation Department provides a variety of programs and activities for borough residents of all ages.

The DCP strives "to provide recreation and other related programs and services which meet the community's needs, with a special consideration for seniors and youth."

Along with the Department of Community Services, the DCP also manages and maintains several parks and facilities including the Municipal Golf Course and the Family Aquatic Center.

The DCP itself is housed at the Summit Community Center and is comprised of six full-time staff members. The DCP also employees hundreds of seasonal camp counselors, lifeguards, gate attendants, and maintenance workers.
