Full Playing Rules and Regulations

SYSL administers an organizational structure to schedule games among participating towns/teams and prescribes rules and regulations that ensure safe, enjoyable, and fair competition.

A youth program should be, as its name implies, a program for kids. To win at any cost may be the proper attitude for the highly skilled player, but this attitude is contradictory to the basic objectives of SYSL. Many of our regulations have been written specifically to implement our philosophy as far as practicable.

Our philosophy is to provide a semi-competitive environment for children while developing their individual soccer skills, knowledge of the game, and good sportsmanship.

Our Playing Rules and Regulations are provided in the document below.
